The UK Clinical Research Collaboration (UKCRC) Registered CTU Network is now the UK Registered CTU Network. The change reflects the Network’s evolution into a mature, nationally recognised and self-governed community of Clinical Trials Units (CTUs) across the UK.
Why has the Network changed its name & visual identity?
The new name provides greater clarity and better reflects the Network’s national role, reach, and influence across the clinical research landscape.
The refreshed identity supports the Network’s maturation and independence while providing a consistent presence across digital, print, and event communications.
What is staying the same?
The Network’s commitment to quality, collaboration, its registration processes, and support for UK-wide clinical research remains unchanged.
The Network continues to:
– Promote high standards in clinical trials.
– Support collaboration and innovation.
– Provide a collective voice for units undertaking non-commercial clinical research.
– Raise the visibility publicly funded clinical trials.

What is changing?
Does this affect existing members?
No. Existing membership, registration status, and expectations remain exactly the same.
When will the new identity be introduced?
The new branding is currently being rolled out across our communications, website, outputs, and social media accounts.
All new publications and communications will use the UK Registered CTU Network name and visual identity. Existing resources will be updated where appropriate, but many historic documents will continue to reflect the branding that was in place when they were originally published. These materials remain official Network publications and continue to be valid and relevant. Updating the branding would not change their content or purpose.
Is there anything I need to do?
If you reference the Network on your CTU website or in your presentations, papers, or conference posters, please check that you are using the new name and logo.
You can obtain a high-resolution copy of the logo in a number of different formats by emailing the Network Secretariat on regctus@leeds.ac.uk.

Who needs to know?
We’d like as many people as possible to be aware of this change, particularly the organisations and individuals we work with regularly, including funders such as NIHR and Cancer Research UK, regulators including the MHRA and HRA, and healthcare professionals. Please help us spread the word within your networks.
If you notice an old logo or a reference to our old name please do let us know on regctus@leeds.ac.uk so that we can ensure that they are updated.
